The Friends of the Hermiston Public Library will hold their annual book sale Sept. 19-21.

Profits from this book sale are used to directly support the Hermiston Public Library. The sale, located downstairs in the Lanham Room, will be open on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a special members-only sale. For people who want to get an early start shopping for some great book bargains but aren’t currently a Friends member, the answer is simple – join the Friends for as little as $10 at the door!

The book sale will continue through the rest of the week with doors opening Friday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Selection is great so come early to get those volumes you’ve needed to complete your collection of fiction writers, books on cooking, travel, history and just about any subject you can think of,” said Marie Baldo, director of the Hermiston Public Library.

The final day of the sale is Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. when books can be purchased for $1 a bag.

“For you bargain hunters this is the day you have been waiting for,” Baldo said. Anyone interested in becoming involved with the Friends of the Library are reminded that they can pick up a membership form any time they stop by the library. The Friends are dedicated to promoting libraries in general and specifically providing both financial and donated time to the library.
