Two Blue Mountain Community College baseball players signed letters of intent with the University of Minnesota Crookston to continue their athletic careers.

Matthew Dallas and Jacob Butcher, both sophomores at BMCC, declared their intent to play with the Golden Eagles during a signing ceremony in the McCrae Activity Center.

Dallas, a pitcher, will complete his Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree at BMCC this spring. He plans to major in sports management and minor in coaching. He said his time at BMCC has helped him learn how to be a good teammate.

“I’ll definitely remember meeting all of my friends and teammates,” Dallas said.

Butcher, also a pitcher, is currently studying science at BMCC, and plans to major in golf and turf management at UMC.

“I think that my time here at BMCC helped me to become a better teammate and better person overall,” Butcher said. “I’ll miss these guys.”
