Bradley L. Montee died on May 14, 2018 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 60.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1957 in Pendleton to Gerald and Karen Moore Montee.

Bradley was raised and attended schools in Athena, graduating from Weston-McEwen High School in 1976. He attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton. Bradley loved ranching from the time he started at the age of 15. He was injured in 2015 and was no longer able to ranch, although he longed to be back on the horse or the tractor right up to his passing. He was loyal, hardworking and devoted.

Bradley was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Marianne Bonifer on Oct. 28, 1978 in Athena, and they have lived in Hermiston since. He enjoyed volunteering at the Pendleton Roundup working the chutes for over 20 years, rodeos, horses, fly fishing and time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne Montee, Hermiston; mother, Karen Montee, Athena; sister, Brenda Varner, Pendleton; son, Justin Montee, Pendleton; daughter, Kylie Montee, Pendleton; grandchildren, Rachel, Emma, Chyanne, Scotlyne, Jackson, Morgan, Samantha, Cameron, Christian, James and Colby; great granddaughter, Chloe; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bradley was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Montee and brother, Brian Montee.

A celebration gathering will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Let ’er Buck Room, Pendleton.

Those who wish may make contributions in Bradley’s memory to the children’s rodeo through IMESD.
