The Hermiston School District released a statement on Tuesday assuring parents that the district supports all students regardless of immigration status. The statement came in response to President Trump's announcement that he would rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program within six months. (Photo: File)

The Hermiston School District will launch on-line student registration on beginning today, Aug. 7.

The process is more convenient for parents to update their student’s information from the comfort of their own homes; update the physical/mailing address, emergency contact information, etc. This new feature is made possible through our existing student information system.

These are the steps for on-line registration:

  • To get started go to http://hermiston.k12.or.us/parents select returning or new student.
  • Enter the snapcode that you received in the mail. The snapcode serves as a key to access your child’s online registration. If you have multiple children, each child will have their own snapcode.
  • Create an account to securely save your work and to make future edits. You will need an email address or cell phone number to set one up; sign in and complete the form.
  • Use the same account to complete forms. If you have multiple children complete one form at a time.
  • New students to the district will be required to submit a record of their birth, proof of residence/physical address, health record, previous report cards or transcripts. ∗ If there is documentation on legal custody of the student it is very important that this information be given to the school’s secretary.
  • If a parent does not have access to a computer, computers as well as staff will be available to assist with the on-line registration process at each school. Assistance can be provided during the regular school hours, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Hermiston High School will have computers and staff available during the traditional week of registration — August 14-18 to help with the new on-line student registration process.

HSD Open Houses will be take place on Thursday, August 24. We encourage families and students to attend to get acquainted with the teachers, school staff and at the middle school level to practice opening their lockers.
