A Salem man died in a single-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on Highway 395 in Umatilla County.
According to the Oregon State Police, a black 2016 Dodge Ram, operated by Alexander Ionita, 62, was traveling northbound on Highway 395 when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand turn in the road and rolled down an embankment into Camas Creek near milepost 53.1
The OSP said Ionita was wearing a seat belt but sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
