Echo Resident, Brian Spike, Passes Away at 34

Brian T. Spike died on Feb. 3, 2014 at his home in Echo at the age of 34.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1979 in Hermiston to Jeffry and Cynthia Spike. Brian was raised in Echo where he attended school and played baseball. He graduated from Echo High School in 1998 and then attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton. Brian then went to work on the family ranch where he has worked since. He cherished the time spent with his children, Hudson and Gracie. Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the outdoors, 4-wheeling, and was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.

He is survived by his children, Hudson Elk & Gracie Lane; his parents, Jeff and Cindy Spike, Echo; grandparents, Darrell and Mary Ann Power, Echo; brother, Casey Spike & his wife Emily, Echo; sister, Krista Spike, Portland; niece, Emerson; longtime companion, Darla Esterbloom, Echo; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Suzanne Spike.

A celebration of life service was held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.

A private family burial will be held at the Echo Cemetery.
