Time to catch up with events and activities at Hermiston High School! Here’s a roundup of the past week and a look at upcoming events:

Immunization Deadline – Feb. 17 is the day that immunizations must be up to date for students, or they will be removed from school.

Air Force Tour – Recruiters are planning a tour of the Fairchild Air Force Base with 14 spots available. They are taking along students from multiple cities around the district, so those slots will fill up fast!

Cancer Awareness February – The Hermiston High School girls’ basketball team will raise cancer awareness at their last game of the season on Feb. 23. At half time, they are offering people who have experiences with cancer to come down from the stands and receive a rose.

Knowledge Bowl – Our Knowledge Bowl team went to Richland, Wash., for its last competition of the season on Feb. 9. The team placed 9h place out of 28 opposing teams.

Educator of The Year – Melody Bustillos, a counselor at Hermiston High, was honored with the Educator of the Year award at the recent Distinguished Citizens Award Banquet.

American College Testing (ACT) – Hermiston High has opened registration for the upcoming ACT test, which will take place April 9. Students have been advised to sign up as soon as possible.

Basketball – Both of the HHS basketball teams took home wins this past week at Hood River Valley. The girls won, 62-39, while the boys completely shredded their opponents, 84-44. Go Bulldogs!
