The Oregon Department of Corrections is reporting the death of an inmate at Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) in Umatilla.
According to the department of corrections, Le Huang died early Thursday morning. As with all in-custody deaths, the Oregon State Police have been notified.
Huang entered DOC custody on July 15, 2014 and his expected release date was Dec. 3, 2032. He was 51 years old.
“As an agency, we are responsible for the care and custody of 14,700 men and women who are incarcerated in the 14 institutions across the state,” said Jennifer Black, communications manager for the Department of Corrections. “When an in-custody death occurs, we take it seriously.”
TRCI is a multi-custody prison in Umatilla that houses approximately 1,800 male inmates.
