James Huber Passes Away at Age 79

Elmer James “Jim” Huber died on April 12, 2014 in Mount Angel at the age of 79.

He was born on July 10, 1934 in Mount Angel to Alfred and Magdalene Prantl Huber. Jim was raised and attended schools in Mount Angel. He graduated high school and then attended a body and fender trade school in Portland. Jim worked in auto body repair in the Seattle area for many years. He returned to Mount Angel in the mid 1980s and opened Huber’s Auto Rebuild for 15 years. Jim retired from the body shop and spent many hours working and visiting with friends at Burger Time in Mount Angel for several years. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, playing cards, gambling, and most of all time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Don, daughters, Vickie and Monica, all of Washington; six grandsons; one granddaughter; three brothers; five sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Robbie; his parents; two sisters; and one brother.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Miller Cemetery in Silverton.
