Launch of Hermiston Brand Set for July 9

Following the approval of the Hermiston City Council, the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted likewise to adopt Hermiston’s new brand with its logo and tagline.

More than 1,100 people who live and or work in and around Hermiston shared their opinion about two logo and tagline concepts as potential elements of a Hermiston community brand. The city and chamber asked community members for feedback via an online and printed survey, which closed March 31.

Hermiston Logo webThe community-preferred logo and tagline were adopted this month by both the city council and chamber board as the official Hermiston community brand. The logo features key elements associated with Hermiston – a watermelon and the Hermiston Butte.

A public launch of the “Where Life is Sweet” brand elements is planned for July 9 at FunFest in downtown Hermiston. More information about the launch will be provided closer to the event.

A committee of 25 residents worked for several months to help guide the development of brand identity concepts (logos and taglines). The concepts were shared with the community via a survey to gain broad input before adoption.

The community brand will be used by the City of Hermiston and Chamber of Commerce to help give Hermiston an identity; promote Hermiston’s livability; attract more businesses and families to the area; and make Hermiston a desirable destination/increase tourism.
