Leonard Foundation Offering Scholarships

Red & Gena Leonard spent many years of hard work and frugal living and in order to donate the funds to establish the Red & Gena Leonard Foundation.

Over the years the foundation has awarded over 1,816 scholarships to local students totaling over $3.5 million dollars.

If you are heading to college in the fall of 2016, please submit an application for a Leonard Foundation Scholarship. Scholarships are $1,500-$2,700 per student per year and students are eligible to reapply each year. Students do not have to be current seniors – we accept applications from students of all ages.

Criteria includes a demonstrated financial need, a 2.0 minimum GPA (though a lower GPA is accepted in some situations), attending an Oregon college (unless the training a student is looking for in not available in Oregon), and a desire to work in a trade or family-wage profession.

Special consideration given to students studying agriculture, welding, diesel mechanics, industry arts or trades such as electricians, plumbing, HVAC and nursing. Scholarships, however, are also awarded to other majors such as teaching, criminal justice, engineering and more.
