To The Editor:
Join me in supporting Jesus Rome for Hermiston City Council. I have known him since the early nineties when we were on the Hermiston High School cross country team. Like me, Jesus (also known as Chuy) Rome returned to Hermiston after college to begin his career and raise his family. When I returned to Hermiston in 2000, Jesus was already volunteering in community nonprofit organizations through his church and otherwise. I have seen him step up and lead when he believes he can make a positive difference. His position at Head Start gives him a broad perspective on our community, including how the private and public spheres work together, and the socioeconomics of our region. I believe Jesus Rome will be a positive and productive addition to the Council.
