Temperatures Soar Above Historical Averages

Temperatures continue to soar well above historical averages with record highs being set in several cities in the Pacific Northwest.

In Hermston on Monday, the high was recorded at 104 at the Hermiston Airport and today’s high is expected to reach triple digits again. The average temperature for June 9 in Hermiston is 80 degrees.

Temperatures in Hermiston are expected to reach 96 on Wednesday and 94 on Thursday before settling back down in the 80s beginning on Friday.

On Monday, record highs were set in Meacham (90), Redmond (98), The Dalles (102), Walla Walla (102), and Yakima (105).

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for today, meaning the fire hazard danger is high with high temperatures, wind and dry weather.
