A Hermiston man was among two people killed Saturday morning in an accident on Highway 140 near Klamath Falls.

Garrett Zimmer 22, of Hermiston, and Marri D. Young-Wellbaum, 26, of Eagle Point, were killed after being ejected from their vehicle following a highway collision.

According to the Oregon State Police, a red Ford Ranger pick-up truck driven by Zimmer, was traveling westbound around 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, when Zimmer lost control of the truck, causing it to collide with a lamp post and highway sign and rolling several times into an adjacent field.

A third occupant, Guage L. Gray, 22, of Klamath Falls, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The OSP said speed, alcohol and icy road conditions are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash. None of the occupants were wearing seat belts.
