Dorothy M. Foster of Hermiston died on Aug. 22, 2023 in Hermiston at the age of 97.
She was born on May 30, 1926 in Arkansas to Alfred and Ethel Graves Anderson.
Dorothy was raised in Arkansas with her 11 siblings. She married Harold Lloyd Taylor in 1946 and they had two children, Harold “Ed” and Rockie. Dorothy moved to California in 1951 and worked as a school cook/baker for many years. She moved to Boardman in 1985 and lived there for several years before moving to Hermiston.
Dorothy enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, hymns, playing piano, singing, gardening and being involved in her church.
She is survived by her son, Ed Taylor and wife Carol; daughter, Rockie Thayer; grandchildren, Denise Dohman and Glenn, Susan Bush and Justin, Deidra Jaskowski and Paul, and Ross Thayer and Christine; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Taylor; her parents; a son-in-law, Roger Thayer; and her siblings.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 125 E. Beech Ave., Hermiston.
