Lynda C. Jeffries died on Sept. 4, 2023 at her home in Hermiston at the age of 80.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1942 in Lebanon, Tenn. to Robert and Patty Williams Hawks.
Lynda was raised and attended schools in Tennessee. Lynda was united in marriage to Benjamin Robert Jeffries on Feb. 15, 1958 in Tennessee. They lived in Vancouver, Wash. and then Boring for a time before settling in Umatilla in 1979. Lynda worked as a beautician for many years. She enjoyed sewing, making dolls, being a homemaker and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Marsing (Dave), Irrigon and Donna Snyder (John), Stanfield; sons, Deryl Jeffries (Jackie), Mt. Pleasant, Tenn. and David Jeffries, Hermiston; brother, Bobby Hawks (Darlene), Lebanon, Tenn.; grandchildren, Alicia, Brianna, Jennifer, Keith, Nicole, Robert, Trisha and Andy; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lynda was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister, Patricia Hastey.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Burns Mortuary Chapel, Hermiston.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. at Ye Olde Pizza Shoppe, Hermiston.
