Father, Son from Umatilla Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 730

A father and son from Umatilla were killed on Friday, July 19 in a  head-on collision on Highway 730 in Morrow County.

On Friday, at 3:10 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 730 near milepost 173.

The preliminary investigation indicated a westbound Jeep Wrangler, operated by Anthony Daulton, 41, of Las Vegas, crossed into the eastbound lane for unknown reasons and struck an eastbound Nissan King Cab pickup operated by Abraham Figuerou-Ayala, 51, of Umatilla.

Figuerou-Ayala and a passenger, a male juvenile, Pedro Damian Figueroa, 17, were declared dead at the scene.

Daulton and a passenger, Clarissa Ann Daulton, 41, of Las Vegas, suffered reported serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The highway was impacted for approximately five hours during the on-scene investigation. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

OSP was assisted by Boardman Fire, Irrigon Fire, Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
