The city of Hermiston will begin a new series of quarterly City Chat events to bring residents and city leaders together for open and meaningful conversations.
The City Chats will create an opportunity for residents to ask direct questions, share ideas, and provide feedback on the direction of the city.
The first City Chat will be Monday, Nov. 18, from 9-11 a.m. at Maple Moose Coffee, located at 395 E. Main Street in Hermiston. City Manager Byron Smith, Hermiston Energy Services General Manager Nate Rivera, and city councilors will be present to share information, answer questions, and, most importantly, listen to the community’s thoughts and concerns.
“We want these City Chats to be part of Hermiston’s ongoing commitment to transparency, engagement, and collaboration with residents,” said Smith. “They are intended to be an informal chance for people to learn more about the city’s goals and decision-making process and give us direct feedback on how we’re doing.”
Future City Chat events will be held at small businesses around Hermiston, featuring different departments, and at different times of day to ensure accessibility for everyone in the community. The next event will be in January at Java Junkies in Hermiston with a time and date to be announced in early January.
