Lenn L. Greer died on Jan. 5, 2025 at his home in Irrigon at the age of 52.
He was born on April 17, 1972 in Baker City to Glenn and Glenna Akers Greer.
Lenn grew up in Irrigon and attended Riverside High School before going on to the University of Idaho, where he received a bachelor’s degree. Lenn met his wife Rachel during their college years and welcomed their only son four years after they wed. Lenn started his career as a high school agricultural and shop teacher after graduating from the University of Idaho and later got a master’s degree from Oregon State University.
Lenn enjoyed his family, gardening, fishing, animals and cooking. Since Lenn moved his family back 19 years ago to the community where he grew up, he has grown the schools ag program immensely and dedicated countless hours to giving back to his community. He loved being able to mentor and teach his students, leaving a lasting impact that spread beyond just the FFA program.
He was respected by many and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; son, Ethan Greer (Alysun); beautiful granddaughter, Arya Greer; eight brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lenn was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Irrigon High School gymnasium.
