Rowdy Fenley Jr. Passes Away at 74

Hubert Lee “Rowdy” Fenley Jr. of Hermiston passed away in Richland, Wash. on May 2, 2025 at the age of 74.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1951 in Vallejo, Calif. to Hubert and Dorothy Smith Fenley.

Rowdy moved to Hermiston in the mid-1960s. He attended high school in Hermiston but graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, Wash. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, Rowdy returned to Hermiston where he had lived since. He continued his military service by serving in the Army National Guard for an additional 20 years.

Rowdy worked for Bud Rich Potatoes and for Simplot for most of his working career. He enjoyed reading, playing video games, building model tanks and attending the Hermiston Christian Center.

He is survived by four daughters, Cynthia, Mary, Rachel and Geri Ann; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry; sisters, Wanda, Janice and Barbara; and many extended family members.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later time.

A private burial was in the Hermiston Cemetery.
