Georgianna Christensen
She was born on Oct. 13, 1923 in Huntington to George L. and Ruth M. Lane Sevey. Georgianna had two older sisters, Margaret and Gene, and a younger sister, Donna, whom all preceded her in death. She grew up and attended school in the Huntington area. She met Gerald Thomas McCord in Weiser, Idaho when he was a skate runner at the skating rink. They married on July 9, 1942. They had four children, Frances (Sterling Brown), Michael McCord, Artice Foster, and Vincent McCord (Elsie).

Around 1949 or 1950 they moved with their family to the Hermiston area, and later divorced in 1961. Georgianna moved with the children to Weiser, Idaho where many of her extended family lived. She married Joseph D. Christensen on July 25, 1969 and they lived in Boardman until Dewey passed away in March of 1977. Georgianna remained in Boardman until 1987 when she moved to Hermiston.

Besides spending time with her children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed puzzles of all types, fishing and window shopping were two of her favorite things. Georgianna moved to her daughter Artice’s about four months ago.

She is survived by her four children; 14 grandchildren; 20-plus great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
