Pollie S. Kile, 76, of Hermiston, died on Monday, May 5, 2014 in Hermiston. She was born on July 18, 1937 in Laton, Calif., to parents, Bill and Mavis Sewell.

Pollie was a resident of Hermiston since 1980. She worked at Walmart for 11 years until her retirement in 2003. She became a CNA in Idaho. She was a member of the Hermiston Eagles Lodge, former member of the Stanfield Moose Lodge and Irrigon Moose Lodge. Pollie’s favorite hobby was bingo. She attended the First Christian Church in her later years as her health allowed.

She married Fred O. Kile on July 16, 1982 in Hermiston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mavis Sewell; her husband, Fred O. Kile; and stepsons, William and Kenneth Kile.

She is survived by son, James Gary and his wife, Carmen Johnson of Hermiston; daughters, Linda and Art Chandler of Yakima, Angela and Gerald Thompson of California, Rita Watterson of Hermiston, Judy and Bill Shipp of Hermiston; stepdaughters, Anita Kile of Hermiston, Lori and Tim Walters, and Kimberly Kile, both of Astoria; brothers, Leon Sewell as well as Barry and Kathy Sewell of California; sisters, Nola nd& Billy Herd, Billie Small, Inez Sewell and Harriet Milner, all of California; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Burns Mortuary from 4 to 6 p.m.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 775 W. Highland Ave. in Hermiston. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hermiston Eagles or to the Alzheimer’s Fund.
