Harry Lee Bresnahan Jr. died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2014 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 81.

He was born March 9, 1933 at Shoshone, Idaho to Harry Lee and Orpha Jeanette (Ward) Bresnahan Sr.

Harry grew up in Mountain Home, Idaho and attended grade school and high school there, before moving to Hermiston in 1950. His family moved to Hermiston, where he completed his senior year at Hermiston High School and graduated in 1951. He attended the University of Portland, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree and more importantly, met the love of his life, Barbara Jane Schroder. They married on June 24, 1955 in Pendleton, Oregon. Harry worked as a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, the Hermiston Elks Lodge #1845, and the Hermiston Eagles Lodge #2909. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, dancing, singing, listening to music, and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Bresnahan of Hermiston; sons, Harry (Bev) Bresnahan III of Woodland, Wash., and Jim (Tracy) Bresnahan of Oregon City; granddaughters, Crista and Nicole Bresnahan; and his beloved 4-legged, ever-faithful companion, “Josie.”
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 565 W. Hermiston Ave., Hermiston, OR 97838.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church (Building Fund), 565 W. Hermiston Ave., Hermiston, OR 97838 or to Vange John Memorial Hospice, 645 W. Orchard Ave., Suite 300, Hermiston, OR 97838.
