Medicare Classes Offered in E. Oregon

Field officers with the Oregon Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) will be presenting Medicare 101 classes throughout Eastern Oregon beginning today.

The Medicare 101 classes will cover the A, B, C, and Ds of Medicare. Participants will find out when and how to enroll in Medicare and will gain an understanding of costs. They will also get information on where to get Medicare help in their community.

Classes will be held in Heppner and Hermiston today. In Heppner, the class will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Hospital, 564 Pioneer Drive. In Hermiston, the class will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hermiston Public Library, 235 E. Gladys Ave.

On Wednesday, the classes will be held in Umatilla, Irrigon and Pendleton. In Umatilla, the class will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Umatilla Public Library, 911 Seventh St. In Irrigon, it will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Irrigon Public Library. In Pendleton, the class will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pendleton Public Library, 502 S.W. Dorion Ave.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, the classes will be held in Stanfield and Boardman. In Stanfield, it will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Stanfield Public Library, 180 W. Coe Ave., and in Boardman, it will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Port of Morrow Well Springs Conference Room, 2 N.W. Marine Drive.

The two-week tour is sponsored in part by Libraries of Eastern Oregon.
