Good Shepherd Offers Variety of Support Groups

Good Shepherd Medical Center offers a variety of support groups through the year. Here’s a look at the different groups along with their meeting times and locations:

Breast Cancer Support Group: The group meets on the third Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the GSMC Medical Office Plaza, Room 2, 620 N.W. 11th St. For more information, call Karen at 541-561-6522, Shari at 541-561-7407 or for Spanish-speaking participants, call Esmeralda at 541-922-2753.

Diabetes Support Group: For people dealing with a new or long-term diagnosis of diabetes. Meetings will have an educational presentation as well as group discussion. The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Medical Center Wellness Center behind the hospital. Alzheimer’s Support Group: Meets on the fourth Monday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the GSMC Conference rooms 3 and 4 by the cafeteria. For more information, call Cathy Lloyd at 541-390-1158.

Hope for Healing Support Group: Ongoing bereavement support group for people dealing with loss and grief issues. The group meets the second and fourth Monday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Both meetings take place at the GSMC Medical Office Plaza, Room 2, 620 N.W. 11th St. For more information, call 541-667-3543.

Parkinson’s Disease Support Group: This is a new support group for people living with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones. This peer-led group will help you learn about the disease, exchange information, give and receive support, and talk about coping skills.
