Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington Troop 50117 are lending a hand to the Umatilla Fire Deparment fill food baskets for families in need this Christmas by holding food drives at the station.

The Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies and Cadettes – grades kindergarten through third and middle school – have already spent three days on their food drive. They will continue flagging down drivers in front of the station, located at 921 Sixth Street behind the Umatilla School District office on Dec. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m., Dec. 11 from 3 to 7 p.m. and Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will give a handmade ornament to each person who donates, while supplies last.

For more information, contact the troop leader, Denise Griffith, at (541) 579-0768.
