A Philomath man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near Boadman on Friday.
Keith O. Carney, 34, was found dead inside his 1985 Chevrolet truck at milepost 154 around 6:30 a.m. Emergency personnel responded to the report of a crash and arrived on the scene to find the truck fully engulfed in fire, according to the Oregon State Police.
After the fire was extinguished, Carney was found deceased inside.
Preliminary information indicates the Chevrolet was traveling eastbound on I-84 when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and traveled for over 400 feet. The Chevrolet struck a large boulder where it caught fire.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Boardman Fire and Ambulance, Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
