The Hermiston School District will host the Best of the West basketball tournament this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 23-24.
The tournament has 101 teams registered – 85 of which are from out of the area – scheduled to play in 233 games.
Visitors spend about $60.84 per visit, based on the district’s EcoNorthwest economic impact study. With spectatorship expected at 2.5 people per participant, the community can expect an impact of over $129,000.
“We are always excited to host these tournaments, not only to showcase our facilities but to provide economic support for our community,” said Executive Director of Operations Mike Kay.
