A pair of ag-related job fairs are coming to Hermiston and Boardman in March.
The third annual SAGE Center Agriculture and Energy Job Fair is set for March 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SAGE Center, 101 Olson Road in Boardman.
The event is open to the public giving attendees a chance to visit with area food processors, utilities, farms, local government agencies, data centers and educational institutions about careers, education and job-seeking help.
“This event gives people the opportunity to connect with the region’s leading agriculture and energy industries to discover rewarding careers,” said Kalie Davis, SAGE Center manager.
Local high school students and college students have also been invited to the fair to see careers available in their communities and learn what kind of education they need to work in local industries.
Blue Mountain Community College, Walla Walla Community College, Perry Technical Institute, Oregon State University and Eastern Oregon University are also attending to provide information about educational opportunities.

Another ag-related job fair is set for Hermiston one week later. The third annual Community Agricultural Workers and Employers Resource Fair will be held on March 9 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hermiston Conference.
Attendees will learn about training and employment programs that will help build the local workforce and address services that will help grow healthy families. There will also be oral, cholesterol and blood pressure checks and screenings. Fiesta Foods will be serving dinner from 5-6 p.m. and there will be drawings throughout the evening. Radio LaLey’s DJ Martin will be the event’s announcer.
Admission is free.
The event is sponsored by the Hermiston Latino Business Network, Fiesta Foods and Atkinson Staffing.
