The public is invited to attend the upcoming meeting of the Highway 395 Committee which will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday March 8 at the Stafford Hansell Government Center in Hermiston.
The committee, along with Umatilla County staff, has been meeting for the past year and a half to identify opportunities to improve the economic and aesthetic value of North Highway 395, between Punkin Center and Bensel Roads.
Meeting topics will include zoning and “clustering” of commercial and light industrial parcels, as well as roadway improvements in the area of Baggett Lane and West Fourth Street.
“This public-private effort has been very positive” said Steve Watkinds, Committee Chair and owner of Columbia Court Club located along North Highway 395. “The committee is working in partnership with the county, state and landowners to improve the area.”
