Hermiston's Glen Erickson Passes Away at 77

Glen Chester Erickson, 77, formerly of Nampa, Idaho, passed away March 12, 2016 in Hermiston at the age of 77.

Glen was the fifth child born to Olaf and Myrtle (Johnson) Erickson. He was born and spent his childhood in Ontario. He attended High School in Firth Idaho and Business School in Nampa Idaho. Glen met Donna Mewhinney of Homedale, Idaho and they were married at the Homedale Friends Church March 25, 1960. Glen worked in the meat processing business, first in Cornelius, Oregon, later with his brother Ron in Weiser, Idaho, eventually buying the Midvale Cold Storage in Midvale, Idaho. Later he worked in property management in Hood River, Oregon, Boise and Nampa, Idaho. After retiring, Glen and Donna traveled by motorhome to Alaska, Arizona, California and other destinations. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, camping, riding ATVs, beach combing and watching western movies. Glen loved Jesus and left a legacy of goodness, kindness and generous love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Roland and daughter-in-law Bev.

He is survived by his wife Donna, sons Ron Erickson and Carl Erickson(Cindy), daughter Darla Gjino(Stuart Chrisman), Grandchildren Rob Erickson, Carlee Shephard (Jeff), Aaron Erickson(Calla), Ryan Erickson, Niko Gjino and Andrew Gjino, great grandchildren Chance, Jadyn, Blake and Drake, Siblings Bernice, Robert, Edna, Ida and Fred.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Free Methodist Church in Fruitland, Idaho.
