Kenneth Valdez
Kenneth Eugene “Kenny” Valdez passed away in the morning of August 18, 2016 at his home in Hermiston at the age of 44.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1971 in Yakima, Wash. Kenny was raised in Zillah, Wash., and finished high school in Hermiston. He went on to Blue Mountain Community College and has worked at UPS in Hermiston for 25 years.

Kenny always had a smile on his face and gave so much of himself to the community of Hermiston. He has loved the sport of wrestling since he was 13 and has continued to share his love and passion for the sport by being a volunteer wrestling coach for the Hermiston High School since 2013. Kenny is a mentor to many young adults and has also committed his time and energy to many other sports and community events in Hermiston.

Aside from a permanent smile on his face, Kenny is such a loveable character that he is fondly referred to by close friends as the, “dancing bear.” He possessed an abundance of kindness to every ones lives he has touched. He enjoyed wakeboarding, fishing, the outdoors, was an avid Steelers fan, loves spending time with his Mom, Elizabeth, relished playing PS4 with his nephew Lehi into the wee hours of the morning and playing Pokemon Go with his brother Mikey and his nephews, Gabriel and Jeremiah. Most of all he enjoyed to helping in any way he could, and would go out of his way to assist anyone in need.

He is survived by his mother: Elizabeth Diaz; brothers: Tony Valdez, Danny Diaz and Mikey Diaz; his children: Zack, Jonathan, and Thomas; and his nephews: Lehi, Gabriel, Jay, Sky and Jeremiah.

Kenny is kind, loyal, compassionate and warm hearted. He will be greatly missed.
