Armand Larive Middle School will kick off the year with the Oregon Association of Student Councils (OASC) by hosting the fall middle school regional workshop on Monday, Oct. 2, from 8:15 a.m.-1:45 p.m., at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center (EOTEC.

The council has teamed up with #ICANHELP which has a clear message for students — one person has the power to make a difference and delete negativity online in his or her own life.

EOTEC will see about 150 middle and high school students from Baker, Gilliam, Grant, Harney, Malheur, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, and Wheeler counties.

Hermiston will be represented by both middle schools and high school. The students will listen to a keynote speaker from #ICANHELP, break out into workshops and the young leaders will work on a community service project. The Oregon Association of Student Councils is a non-profit member association that serves middle and high schools throughout the state.

The organization provides leadership development to students and advisors. The association is sponsored by the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators and is recognized by the National Association of Student Councils.
