A total of 109 entries took part in the parade on Aug. 4 that helped kick off the 2018 Umatilla County Fair.
Below are the first-place winners in the various categories:
- Bands & Music: Umatilla County Marching Band
- Dance: Gem Cheer Royals
- Equestrian: Rancho La Escondida
- Float: Connell Community Float
- Motorized Group: Krome Diesel Repair
- Non-Float: Community Bank
- Royalty: Columbia County Fair
The Connell Community Float was also the winner of the Overall Sweepstakes Award. The entry titled Stirrup a Fun Ride as a Foster Parent was the winner of the Fair Theme Award.
Ribbons and awards may be picked up at the fair office, 1705 E. Airport Road in Hermiston, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
