Beth Picard Passes Away at 84

Beth L. Picard of Umatilla passed away on Aug. 28, 2018 in Hermiston at the age of 84.

She was born on March 31, 1934 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Roland “Tex” and Helen Erickson Wilson.

Beth moved to Echo with her family in the early 1940s, where she grew up and attended her schooling. She married Marvin L. Picard in Pendleton on May 1, 1952. The couple lived in the communities of Kennewick and Richland before moving to San Jose, Calif. in the late 1950s. They returned to Oregon in the early 1960s and have resided in the Umatilla area since that time.

Beth was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and read every Danielle Steele and James Patterson novel that was written. She also enjoyed doing cross stitch and having family get-togethers.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Marvin; four sons, Kris (Kathy) Picard, Robin Picard, Larry (Diana) Picard and Kevin (Bonnie) Picard; sister, Marilyn Pratt; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Vanyla Stephens; and a brother, Dale Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at Burns Mortuary Chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Ave.

Family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or to Vange John Memorial Hospice.
