Jesse Andermatt Passes Away at 62

Jesse M. Andermatt died on Nov. 14, 2018 at his home in Irrigon at the age of 62.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1956 in Modesto, Calif.

Jesse was raised by his parents, Val and Karen Andermatt, in California until 1972 when they moved to Mill City. He graduated from Santiam High School in the class of 1974.

Jesse worked in the logging industry for over 20 years. He moved to Irrigon in 2005 to be with his family, where he had lived since. Jesse worked at Shearers in Hermiston for the past 10 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Jaimee Simmons and husband Kurt, Irrigon; son, Jacob Andermatt and wife Tammy, Irrigon; father, Val Andermatt, Mill City; brothers, Vic Andermatt, Bend, Vince Andermatt, Castroville, Texas and Doug Andermatt, Salem; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Andermatt; sister, Valerie Stockton; and mother of his children, Deana Fountain.

A celebration of life potluck gathering will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at 12 noon at Stokes Landing Senior Center, 195 Opal Place, Irrigon.
