Gordon E. Huntington, former Hermiston resident, died on Jan. 10, 2019 at his home in Plymouth, Wash. at the age of 81.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1937 in Boise, Idaho to Clifton and Eleanor Huntington.
He was raised and attended schools in Boise, Idaho. Gordon was united in marriage to Patricia Merrigan on June 14, 1958 in Boise, Idaho. He worked various jobs before joining the pipefitters union, and was a contributing member of the UA for over 50 years, retiring from local 342. Gordon worked on many projects throughout the western United States, including the Alaska pipeline. He retired and they lived in Hermiston before moving to Plymouth, Wash. in 2005, where they have lived since.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Kennewick, Wash. and a former member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. Gordon enjoyed flying his Cessna 140, skydiving, restoring cars and trucks, hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He could fix anything and always had a beloved dog by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Huntington, Plymouth, Wash.; son, Mark Huntington, Andover, Mass.; daughters, Sherry Kenney and her husband Warren, Plymouth, Wash., Tammy Bottita and her husband David, Las Vegas, Nev. and Crystal Bailiff and her husband Howie, Kaysville, Utah; brothers, Marvin Huntington, Plymouth, Wash. and Bob Huntington, Boise, Idaho; sisters, Sharon Gray, Plymouth, Wash. and Marilyn Nelson, Boise, Idaho; grandsons, Brad, Jake and Matthew; great grandchildren, Max, Araya and Dagger; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents.
At his request there will be no service.
