The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association (OSSA) and the Oregon State Police (OSP) to participate in Oregon’s Car Care Program.

Beginning in April, UCSO deputies will be able to issue an “Oregon Car Care” voucher to drivers of vehicles with defective equipment, such as a broken headlight, taillight, etc. The voucher provides a discount on automotive parts to purchase, repair, or replace the defective equipment on your vehicle. The vouchers can be redeemed at any of the participating auto parts stores.

The participating vendors include:

  • Advance Auto Parts
  • Battery Systems
  • Baxter Auto Parts
  • Carquest Auto Parts
  • Clackamas Auto Parts
  • Milex Complete Auto Care
  • Mt. Angel Auto Body Napa Auto Parts
  • White’s Collision

“Operating Without Required Lighting” (ORS 816.330) is a traffic violation and a safety hazard. Required lighting includes all external lighting such as blinkers, headlights, and tail lights. These violations can directly affect the safety of vehicles on the roadways.

Visit the OSP website for more information and to locate a participating auto parts store in your area.
