A Weston woman died in a snowmobile accident on Wednesday near her home.
Around 5:20 p.m., the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a report of a snowmobile accident near a residence on Lieuallen Road in Weston.
East Umatilla County Fire and Rescue and Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded. Due to severe winter weather conditions, the medics and law enforcement obtained assistance in reaching the scene from snowmobilers and a snow cat operated by Mikel Britt, a Umatilla County Electric employee.
JoLynn Lieuallen, 58, was declared deceased when medics arrived on scene at approximately 5:56 p.m.
Family members told the sheriff’s office that because of the road conditions, Lieuallen would park her car at her mother’s residence on Pine Creek Road and ride a snowmobile to her home on Lieuallen Road. A family member became concerned and went to search for her after she had not checked in. He discovered the accident and called for assistance after he was unable to revive her.
