Hermiston School Superintendent Dr. Tricia Mooney had been selected by her colleagues as the Administrator of the Year.
When announced to the board, selection committee members shared the following statement:
“Dr. Mooney, who has been with the district for four years, has proven to be a dynamic, visionary, and enthusiastic leader during her short time as a superintendent. She has greatly improved morale, opened new avenues of communication, and transformed the district’s leadership into a high-functioning, inclusive team of collaborators and compatriots with a shared vision and mission. Her contagious energy, enthusiasm, and passion has spread to those around her and has inspired many more people than she probably suspects.”
Mooney recently completed a doctorate in education program, was appointed to Oregon’s Quality Education Commission by Gov. Kate Brown, and worked to achieve the successful passage of an $82 million bond measure.
