County Emergency Crews Begin Winding Down Post-Flood Operations

Emergency operations in the aftermath of the recent flooding in Umatilla County are winding down.

According to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office this morning, the Umatilla County Emergency Operations Center has transitioned into recovery operations and has reduced staffing. Coordination of efforts continue in conjunction with the many volunteer organizations, agencies and municipalities.

Road and Travel Restrictions

Mill Creek area is closed on the Oregon side of the state line but work continues with an anticipated re-opening this Friday. Walla Walla River road is open only to local residents and emergency personnel. Work crews continue to work on the roadway. Bingham Road and roads along the Umatilla River are opened up to Meacham Creek. Cayuse road is open to Thorn Hollow.
