Randall Freeman Hoeft of Hermiston died on May 14, 2023 at the age of 60 from complications due to an accident on the farm.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1963 in Pendleton to Gary and Sharon Erdman Hoeft.

Randy was raised and attended school in Pilot Rock, graduating from Pilot Rock High School in the class of 1981. He worked at McDonald’s and worked his way up to managing both the Hermiston and Pendleton McDonald’s. Randy had worked for Lamb Weston since 2005.

Randy was a big family man and enjoyed many things involving the people he loved: camping, four-wheeling, kicking butt at Uno, and cooking in his Dutch ovens. He hunted for elk, deer, and his infamous bear, Rattles, that he got to enjoy mounted on the wall at home. Farming was a hidden passion of Randy’s that he got to enjoy on the side.

He is survived by his wife, Tania Hoeft, Hermiston; son, Cody Ray Hoeft (John West), Hermiston; daughter, Callie Ann Hoeft, Hermiston; mother, Sharon Hoeft, Hermiston; sister, Peggy Neal (Jeff), John Day; father- and mother-in-law, Ray and Sherrie Kopacz, Hermiston; brother-in-law, Marek Kopacz, Hermiston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
