Amber Alert Issued for Missing Teen

An Amber Alert has been activated in Oregon for a 14-year old female last seen Dec. 4 getting into a vehicle and believed to be in the company of a 19-year-old male. The Kennewick Police Department believes the female was abducted, is endangered and may be en route to Mexico.

Elizabeth Romero was last seen on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. as she left Phoenix High School in Kennewick for lunch and got into her boyfriend’s forest green Ford Escape sport utility vehicle with a temporary license tag in the window. She did not return to school and her mother contacted their police department later that afternoon to file a report. On Thursday, the girl’s mother received a text message from an unknown phone number from a person identifying herself as Elizabeth, stating she was headed to Mexico with her boyfriend. The mother asked the person on the phone to send a current photo of her but that was ignored.

A video released Thursday night shows the teen-age girl walking across the high school parking lot and getting into a green SUV. She was wearing a white top and dark pants and was carrying a backpack and pink purse.

Washington state issued an Amber Alert on Thursday at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Elizabeth Romero is described as a Hispanic female, 5’3″, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing white top and dark pants, and had a backpack and pink purse.

The suspect is identified as Edwardo Flores Rosales, 19, of Kennewick and has family in Oregon. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5’9″, 225 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Kennewick Police Department advises Rosales is wanted for kidnapping and an arrest warrant was issued.
