Jared Bowling Passes Away at 33

Jared Wayne Bowling of Hermiston died on March 9, 2018 in Portland at the age of 33.

He was born on May 1, 1984 in Hermiston to Barbara “Babbie” Bowling and Fernando Cervantes.

Jared was raised and attended schools in Hermiston, where he participated in football, soccer and wrestling. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland and had worked as a chef at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston for the last 13 years. Jared enjoyed fishing, disc golf, golfing, swimming, concerts and attending food shows, and he was an avid gamer. He loved being an uncle and spending time with his niece.

He is survived by his sister, Olivia Banda, Hermiston; brothers, Mykel Banda, Portland and AJ Cervantes, Hermiston; father, Fernando Cervantes, Hermiston; grandmother, Barbara Bowling, Hermiston; a niece; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jared was preceded in death by his mother, Babbie Bowling; grandparents, Leonard Bowling, Pedro “Pete” Cervantes and Mercedes Cervantes; and uncles, Darrin Bowling and Pete “Buzz” Cervantes Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Hermiston Assembly of God, 730 E. Hurlburt Ave.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery.
