Donna Anderson of Hermiston brought her 1941 Ford to the classic car show at Butte Park in Hermiston where it attracted several admirers. Keith Ramsay dressed up as Uncle Sam on stilts. Carol Green tried to get her granddaughter, Jacee, age 2 ½, to get a closer look. Tucker Teel, 8, plunges into the dunk tank during the Fourth of July celebration. A shivering Tucker said afterwards, “It’s cold.” Big Top the Clown entertains Irie Murray, 4, and her brother, Kingston, 2, with some silly juggling at Butte Park Thursday afternoon. The weather was perfect Thursday. A good-sized crowd enjoyed the vendors and entertainment throughout the day. The Jamie Nasario Band perform a bluesy version of ‘Walkin’ After Midnight’ during the afternoon. The band hails from Echo. Chris Olp of The Dalles and his 1-year-old son, Jericho, relax and take in the atmosphere. They were in town visiting family. Keith Ramsay came down off his stilts and performed an entertaining magic and ventriloquism show in the evening. A large crowd came to see Ramsay perform Thursday. He asked several children to come on stage and help him out with his act. Folks enjoyed a barbecue dinner and a dip in pool at the Hermiston Aquatics Center, put on by the Parks and Rec Department. Joy Bedolla of Hermiston gives it her all during the watermelon-smashing contest. Spectators kept a safe distance away. This was all that was left of the watermelons after the contest.
