Agape House in Hermiston has a new supply of food for its pantry, thanks to the efforts of local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Boy Scout Troop 679 and Pack 645, along with Hermiston Girl Scout Troops 51444 and 52332, canvassed the town on Saturday to collect food for Agape House. Prior to Saturday, the scouts handed out fliers throughout town to let residents know they would be collecting the food on Saturday.

The scouts then spent two hours on Saturday collecting the food donated by residents. When it was over, they had collected 1,480 pounds of nonperishable food for Agape House.

The food will help Agape House re-stock its pantry following the winter holidays.
