Beginning today, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office will conduct enhanced patrols during the Pendleton Round-Up.

Patrols will continue through Saturday, Sept. 15.

“The Pendleton Round-Up is a time for the community to get together in a fun environment,” said Sgt. Josh Roberts. “Our deputies are committed to seeing that the Round-Up is a safe environment by removing impaired and/or distracted drivers from the road.

Earlier this year, the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office was named a DUII Enforcement “Agency of the Year” by the Oregon DUII Multi‐Disciplinary Task Force and was recognized at the annual DUII Multi‐Disciplinary Training Conference in Bend.

UCSO deputies will continue to seek out distracted or impaired drivers in order to prevent injuries and deaths on our highways. These events are funded through a grant from the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association.  This is the final grant event for the 2017‐ 2018 grant year.  The Sheriff’s Office has applied for grant funding for the upcoming 2018‐2019 grant season.

Report suspected drunk drivers by calling 541‐966‐3650, or 911 if it appears to be an emergency.
