$1,000 Reward Offered for Tips Leading to Hit-and-Run Suspect

The Oregon State Police is continuing to ask the public’s help in identifying the driver of a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened in Hermiston nearly 18 months ago.

A reward of $1,000 has been offered by the victim’s family for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

On Aug. 31, 2019, Antonia M. Cobarubias, 41, of Hermiston, was pushing a shopping cart northbound when a red car struck her from behind. The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m.

Cobarubias sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car did not stop, but several pieces of the vehicle were left at the scene. The OSP believes the car to be a 1994-2001 Acura Integra.
