Hermiston’s downtown will come alive on Saturday, July 8 when the 11th annual FunFest gets under way.
FunFest Breakfast by the Hermiston Rotary Club will be served from 7:30-9:30 a.m. on North Second Street. The festival will also include children’s activities, games for the kids along with the Cash Machine with prizes galore, as well as the Bouncy House Relay.
Back by popular demand will be the Outlaw Lawn Mower Dragsters on Main Street by the old Sherrell Chevrolet building.
Carvers from Bear in the Box chainsaw group will put on demonstrations in front of Hermiston Drug Store. The Desert Arts Festival will be located on Second Street in the big tent during the event, as well.
There will be more than 50 booths and activities and shade will be provided in the general area around the stage.
There will be entertainment on the Main Street stage all day long with Big Top the Clown, Gems and Gents, Abigal Hernandez, Bram Brata Youth Steel Band, Josephine Reli and Joseph Konty, and The Bear in the Box Chain Saw Carving Auction.

After FunFest, join in the first annual Around the World event beginning at 4 p.m. on Main Street. There will be cultural entertainment and food for the whole family. The event will run from 4-7 p.m.
