Hermiston’s Downtown District will celebrate the grand opening of Festival Street during the 13th annual Funfest, happening on Saturday, July 14. The Hermiston Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to come enjoy a full day of family fun from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Hermiston Rotary Club will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on South Second Street. The festival also includes food vendors, arts and crafts, bounce houses, children’s activities, games for the kids, face painting, and a Cash Machine with prizes galore.
Back by popular demand, the Outlaw Lawn Mower Dragsters will race down Main Street by the old Sherrell Chevrolet building. The Bear in the Box chainsaw group will be carving in front of Hermiston Drug Store. There will be a fun splash bath tub race, a firehose fountain for cooling off, a car show in McKenzie Park, and much, much more.
A full lineup of entertainment will keep the Festival Street stage busy all day with Big Top the Clown, Gems and Gents, the Bear in the Box chainsaw carving auction, and much more. The chamber will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. to celebrate Festival Street’s grand opening.
